Blood samples must be collected in EDTA-K2 tubes.
Centrifuge immediately at 2000 g for 10 minutes at room temperature, then aliquot (within one hour of blood sampling).
Plasma aliquots must be frozen quickly and stored at -20°C. Send frozen.
A check of the glomerular filtration rate (renal function) is strongly recommended for the results interpretation.
Do not perform this test in asymptomatic individuals to predict dementia risk.
This test cannot be interpreted in subjects under the age of 54.
